Creating content has never been easier!
With AI tools, templates and automated design platforms available at the click of a button, businesses can now produce a steady stream of marketing materials without ever speaking to a designer. On the surface, that sounds like a positive step forward.
However, as these tools become more widely used, more and more businesses are starting to look remarkably similar.
Many of the graphics, images and marketing materials appearing online share the same polished style. They are technically impressive, but often lack the personality, character and individuality that help a business stand out.
As someone who has worked in design for almost three decades, I believe branding has never been about making something simply look nice. Good branding should reflect the people behind the business. It should communicate values, build trust, and help customers understand what sets a company apart from its competitors.
The challenge with relying too heavily on templates and automated tools is that they can encourage businesses to follow the same visual trends as everyone else. While the result may look professional at first glance, it can also make a brand feel less distinctive.
The content that often resonates most strongly isn’t necessarily the most polished or the most technically perfect. It is the content that feels genuine. Real photographs, authentic stories, behind-the-scenes insights and thoughtful design choices all help to create a stronger connection with an audience.
People buy from people. They want to know who they are working with and what a business stands for. They want to feel confident in the people behind the brand.
This is one of the reasons I have been refining my own approach at Evoke Visual. I am focusing on building stronger brands. Brands that are built around clarity, personality and purpose rather than simply following the latest trend. Professional design is not about making your business look like everyone else’s. It is about helping your business look unmistakably like you.
In a marketplace where so much content is beginning to blend together, that difference is becoming increasingly valuable.
