graphic design
Graphic design has been the mainstay of my career for well over 25 years. I hold a degree in Graphic Communication and have a real passion for helping businesses grow through meaningful, well-crafted visuals.
I create mindful design that reflects each company’s ethos, taking time to understand their values, services and audience. My aim is always to build strong, collaborative relationships with my clients so the work we produce feels both intentional and effective.
This includes everything from branding and image development to printed materials such as stationery, packaging and large-scale exhibition graphics.

illustration
I have created many illustrations, and my work has come into its own over the past few years with pieces for training materials, apps and book covers, to mention just a few outlets.
My illustration style is versatile yet distinctive, and I enjoy adapting it to suit a wide range of audiences and purposes. Whether it’s a bold cover design, a set of icons for digital use, or artwork for printed learning resources, I aim to bring clarity, warmth and personality to every project.
content creation
I began writing as a hobby around 2014 with my ‘Digging the Earth’ blog about my allotment gardening. This blog has also progressed into a column for The Derbyshire Times. The content now covers allotment gardening and my thoughts on mental wellness.
I also write on many other topics, including art, design, business, and branding for evokevisual.co.uk, as well as living creatively for Positive Mental Artitude®.

As a side note, whilst I believe the use of AI in marketing and social media is a brilliant development, especially for idea generation and time-saving. I don’t think it can replace the human touch in overseeing and ensuring a brand’s consistent tone and genuine client-to-business connection. I would encourage considering this when planning content creation.
